Operation

mode wheel:

• Switch on press

• Show menu press

• Select function scroll

• Activate function press

esc button:

• Change between menu

and measurement mode

std button:

• Short-cut to measure standard

Operate button:

• Switch on, select and measure

How to Calibrate?

Black/white calibration

• Select Setup – Calibrate – Black/White Calibration

• Place unit on black trap and conﬁrm OK

• Place unit on white standard and conﬁrm OK

Black/white calibration is requested every 3 months.

Cyan check

After a black and white calibration the instrument must be checked on the

Cyan standard.

• Place unit on Cyan standard and conﬁrm OK

The Cyan check is requested every 30 days. Make sure to perform it in

laboratory environment (Temperature 20 - 25°C, Humidity 30 - 60%).

How to measure Differences?

• Select a stored standard, use

„AUTO standard“ or measure a standard

• Input standard name:

Change character ==> turn scroll wheel

Move to next digit ==> press scroll wheel

Move one digit back ==> press esc

• Input number of readings

• Place instrument on standard

• Press operate to take a reading

• Copy predeﬁned settings for data display

• Continue with sample readings

Note: All color data inclusive spectral data are

saved and transferred to software.

• First page displays color

differences

• Scroll to second page for sparkle

and graininess results*

* Only available with BYK-mac i
